The resurrected Jesus said to His frightened disciples, “Peace be with you!“ It is with these words that we begin our worship services because like those first followers of Jesus our lives are filled with all kinds of fear and turbulence. Like those disciples, we seek peace and Jesus the Redeemer comes to offer us the way, the truth, and the life that leads to that peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
The congregation of Redeemer is a community of people called and gathered around the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, the one who has purchased peace for everyone through His life, death, and resurrection. At Redeemer, we offer Christ’s redemption free for all (Ephesians 2:8).
The congregation of Redeemer holds to the Lutheran confession of Christianity. This is our family group within Christianity. We hold to beliefs and practices that are both biblical and historic, a life lived by Christians since the earliest days of the Church. It is a life built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:30) and a life that proclaims that we are all justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24).
The congregation of Redeemer stands as a separate and unique confession of Christianity in Didsbury, Alberta, but we also acknowledge that we are just one part of the body of Christ, the Church. Therefore, we recognize our brothers and sisters who like us, believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31), and live in the hope of Christ coming again.
This website offers information for new people wanting to check us out and for those who have made RLC their church home. There is always room for one more person needing Jesus and the peace He brings.
Redeemer Lutheran Church is the place where Jesus is for you, offering you the gift of peace amidst all the storms you face. Come and know Jesus, your Redeemer, your Peace!
